Nottingham Double Glazing

Privacy Policy

A window, door and conservatory enquiry service for Nottingham and the surrounding area.

Last updated: 30 September 2026

This policy explains what personal information Nottingham Double Glazing collects, what it's used for, who else sees it and when it's deleted. It's meant to be read in one go, without a law dictionary to hand.

Who Is Responsible for Your Data

Nottingham Double Glazing runs this website as an enquiry service that links households in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire and the nearby Derbyshire towns with a local window and door installer. We are the controller of the personal data you give us through the site or over the phone, as the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018 define it. Any question about this policy or about your information can be sent to info@nottinghamdoubleglazing.com.

The Information We Collect

When you fill in a form. The forms ask for your name, a phone number, an email address and your postcode. The quote form then asks what the project is, roughly how many windows or doors are involved, what kind of property it is, whether it's listed or in a conservation area, and when you're hoping to start. The property and conservation questions are there because flats and protected buildings can come under different planning rules, and an installer needs to know that before pricing. Anything you type into the message box is collected too, so please leave out details you'd rather an installer didn't read.

When you phone us. The number shown on this website is provided by WhatConverts, a call-tracking company. For each call it logs the number you rang from, the date and time, how long you spoke and which page or search result led you to call. Some calls may be recorded so that sizes and requirements reach the installer accurately. WhatConverts can give different pages and different visitors their own numbers, so the number displayed may vary between visits or from one page to another. Whichever version you dial, the call comes through to us.

When you browse. The server that hosts this site keeps standard access logs, which include IP addresses, browser type and the pages requested. They're used to keep the site secure and to trace faults, not to work out who visitors are.

What Happens When You Press Send

Form submissions are processed by a mail script running on this website's own server, which emails your answers to us. No outside form provider sits between you and us. Each form also contains a hidden anti-spam field that exists to catch automated bots, and it holds nothing about you.

Purposes and Lawful Basis

  • Getting your enquiry to an installer. You've asked for a quote, so we use your details to pass the enquiry on and to answer any questions you send us. The lawful basis is taking steps at your request before a possible contract, alongside our legitimate interest in running the enquiry service you chose to use.
  • Seeing which pages are useful. Call-tracking records show which pages lead people to get in touch. This relies on legitimate interests; we've balanced this against your privacy and keep what we review to a minimum.
  • Legal obligations and disputes. Some records may be kept where the law requires it, or where they're needed to answer a complaint or a legal claim.

Your details are never sold, never put on a marketing list and never used for a decision made solely by a computer.

Who Receives Your Details

Your enquiry goes to one independent installer covering your area, and that installer contacts you about the job. From the point it receives your details, the installer is responsible for them under its own data protection obligations. Beyond that installer, the only organisations that handle your information are the providers this service relies on: WhatConverts for call tracking, and our hosting company for the website and its forms. If a provider processes data outside the UK, we rely on the safeguards that UK data protection law requires for international transfers.

How Long We Keep It

Enquiry details are kept only while they're needed: while your enquiry is being passed on and followed up, and then for a limited period in case you come back to us with a question or a complaint. After that they're deleted. Call recordings, where a call is recorded, are kept for a shorter time than the basic call log. The record of a complaint is kept until the complaint is resolved and for a reasonable period afterwards. Our host keeps its server logs for its own security period.

Cookies and Tracking Scripts

This website has no Google Analytics, no advertising cookies and no social media pixels, and it doesn't load any Google services. The one script from a third party comes from WhatConverts. That script can save a short identifier in your browser, which it uses to display a tracking number and to link a call or form to the page you came from. Storing that identifier is covered by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). You can clear it at any time in your browser settings, and the site will carry on working.

Your Rights over Your Data

You can ask us to:

  • send you a copy of every piece of your information on our records
  • put right anything that's inaccurate or incomplete
  • erase your information once there's no valid reason to keep it
  • pause our use of it, or object to any use that depends on legitimate interests
  • send you what you gave us in a commonly used format you can take elsewhere

Email your request to info@nottinghamdoubleglazing.com and we'll respond within one month, which is the legal deadline. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain at any time to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk. We'd be glad to try to sort it out with you first, though you don't have to.

Updates to This Policy

When this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a revised date at the top.

Nottingham Double Glazing passes enquiries to independent local window and door installers, and each installer surveys and prices the job itself. Nothing is made, sold or fitted by us, and we don't check or approve any installer. How we are paid.
